Emfuleni's electricity infrastructure is under attack.

Johannesburg – Three of Emfuleni Local Municipality's key substations caught fire in Vanderbijlpark on three consecutive days over the Easter weekend, causing catastrophic electrical infrastructure damage.

There has been a 64-hour power outage in Vaal, and tenants are saying that it is difficult to prepare without electricity.

Students are also having a challenging time without electricity; they are missing classes and do not have access to the internet.

Because of the terrible weather, the Emfuleni Local Municipality has announced that most of the preparation work for power restoration has been completed. They confirmed that the replacement breaker would be delivered the next day.

The municipality has located a replacement transformer from a reputable manufacturer, but it was not ready.
